Program Consultant

As Hagerty grows, we continue to look for talented professionals from a variety of backgrounds to provide holistic solutions to our clients. We are currently seeking a Program Consultant. This contract-based position will be primarily remotely based with travel required to client sites as needed.

Responsibilities for the Program Consultant Include:

  • Support the Project Manager to strategize regarding project trajectory, manage client expectations, and understand the internal team’s strengths and weaknesses; offer advice to the Project Manager based on project results and observations.
  • Monitor daily communication with clients and work with the Project Manager to delegate client requests among project team members.
  • Coordinate as the client's point of contact for all deliverables, scheduling, and inquiries. Form trusted advisor relationships with clients and project team.
  • Plan and conduct regular internal team meetings to update the team on project status; lead onboarding for new team members as needed.
  • Work with senior-level individuals to develop, edit, and finalize presentations for internal and external audiences; lead the development of presentations.
  • Draft and/or edit management- and client-level reports, memorandums, letters, documents, and other deliverables.
  • Conduct monthly invoice reviews and reporting.
  • Research and maintain high-level fluency in various federal programs, including programs under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (SLFRF), or other federal funding programs with state and local clients.
  • Develop written responses to policy, eligibility, compliance, and other questions about federal programs under IIJA and ARPA by conducting detailed research and analysis.
  • Research and monitor policy and political priorities of state and local elected officials and how Federal funds are being spent by state and local governments.

Qualifications for the Program Consultant Include:

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college; preferred degree in social sciences, political science, public policy, or a related field of study.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of work experience in a role providing support to leadership or management, or in a client-facing role.
  • Previous experience in one or more of the following: a state/local government, public sector management consulting, political campaigns, public policy, or a related field.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and political acumen.
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams or supervising junior-level staff or volunteers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with special attention to political and situational awareness.
  • Strong ability to research, analyze and interpret program requirements and federal regulations.
  • Excellent time management, organization, and research skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, Google Drive, and Slack.
  • Ability to work East Coast work hours.

Compensation for the Program Consultant Includes:

  • Salary range of $70,000 - $110,000. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skills, experience and training, licensure and certifications, internal equity, location, travel requirements, and other business and organizational needs.
